Background

A regular blogger on Guide Me Home 2 Chicago Luxury, John has a well-rounded background in real estate and relocation, including experience as principal in a third-party relocation firm. He started his relocation career building a rental agent network for relocation companies and corporations to use in the Chicago market. After moving to a destination home-finding and consulting firm, John counseled domestic and international corporate clients moving to the area. He eventually became a principal in the firm, spearheading the development of their corporate relocation affinity programs.

John has structured the Relocation Department of RUBLOFF Residential Properties to provide clients with an entire menu of relocation services. From agent selection and destination counseling, to corporate housing, buy-outs, mortgage, household goods and more, RUBLOFF Relocation can assist you, whether you are moving to Chicago, from Chicago, or even within the area.

Rubloff Relocation was the first Chicagoland recipient of the coveted RELO Quality Certification Award. RQC recognizes outstanding relocation departments in the Leading Real Estate Companies of the World (Leading RE) network based on meeting rigorous standards for leadership, commitment, resources and customer focus.

Industry Participation / Community Service

John has chaired a number of committees as an executive board member of Chicago's Corporate Relocation Council. His background in community service includes a term as president of the Lake View East Chamber of Commerce, where he led the neighborhood rejuvenation program. He also worked as a commissioner, appointed by Mayor Richard M. Daley, for Special Service Area No. 5 on Chicago's North Side.

John is also an active member of The Employee Relocation Council and the Relocation Directors Council. He received the President’s Service Award form Leading RE in 2007.

A regular speaker on the national and international stage, John is currently the chairman of the Leading RE Advisory Committee representing Rubloff and mid-sized brokerages to The Leading Real Estate Companies of The World; he has spoken many times on topics including time management, internet lead management, and various broker and relocation issues.

Background

Rubloff Residential Properties was fortunate to obtain Darlene Little as Vice President in 1997. Her previous real estate experience includes Vice President, Managing Broker, Operations Manager, Sales Trainer and Selling Broker. Darlene’s easy going management style provides an oasis for agents in the fast-paced upper-end real estate market. She is fair, empowering, visionary, supportive and most of all has the same high level of ethics that has been the hallmark of the Rubloff name for seven decades. Prior to entering the real estate industry she was founder and President of her own corporation with four locations in the Chicagoland Area.

Darlene’s commitment to the excellence of the Real Estate Industry is apparent in her industry involvement. She also serves on the Chicago Association of Realtor’s Professional Standards Committee and has previously served on Countdown to 2000 Committee, and Chaired the Inaugural Banquet Committee. She has served on the Restructuring Task Force of the Multiple Listing Service of Northern Illinois, and was on the Contracts/Riders/Forms Task Force. Darlene is Chairperson of several Arbitration and Ethics Hearing Panels, former Chairperson and Co-Chair of the Community Service Committee, Vice President of the Chicago Metro Group RELO Organization and former Director for Lincoln Central Association. She currently is the Immediate Past President of the Chicago Association of Realtors, as well as a Director of Illinois Association of Realtors, National Association of Realtors and Vice Chairman of CAR’s Education Foundation.

Darlene earned her B.A. in Psychology at the University of Illinois, College of Arts and Sciences, Chicago. She is a third generation Lincoln Park resident and lives in one of Lincoln Park’s historic rowhouses with her daughter Stacy. Darlene enjoys travel, theater, music, piano playing, dance, reading, cultural and sporting events, and mother-daughter excursions. Darlene’s most endearing quality is the richness of her sense of humor.

Mary Ellen Tainer has been a resident of Chicago and the North Shore for nearly 35 years. She entered the Real Estate industry after a 15 year career in Design. Mary Ellen spent her first six years in business working for the McDonalds Corporation and then nine years in the Merchandise Mart working in the Contract Furniture Industry. She has been a successful and dynamic Real Estate professional for the past 20 years.

With cutting edge tools and technology, Mary Ellen is able to provide the training, mentoring, coaching and motivation that is necessary to assist agents in building their careers to the highest levels of achievement in todays market. Mary Ellen and her family reside in Northwest Evanston. In 2006, Mary Ellen accomplished one of her "life goals" and walked in the Avon Breast Walk which is over 39 miles in two days. She's often involved in her teenage son's school and sports activities, but also enjoys cooking, gardening and traveling.

Background

Jim Kinney joined Rubloff in 1984 as a Sales Associate and was promoted to Senior Vice-President of Rubloff’s Residential Properties Group in 1991, then named President in 1993.

 

Jim has been very active in The Realtor Association at the local, state and national level, having served as President of the regional MLS and on the board of the Chicago Association of Realtors and named Chicago Association Realtor of the Year.  At the state association, Jim has served on many committees including Dean of the Realtor Institute and President of the Real Estate Education Foundation and was awarded the title of Illinois Realtor of the Year in 2004.  Nationally, Jim has served on the National Association of Realtors Executive Committee and held the position of Presidential liaison to Ireland.  Jim holds the professional designation of CRS (Certified Real Estate Specialist) and served as Illinois chapter president and was recognized as CRS of the Year twice. Jim is currently on the National Board of the Council of Real Estate Brokerage Managers and will be the 2009 National President of that organization.


Additionally Jim is a member of FIABCI, the International Real Estate Federation and a member of Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate.  He is also a member of the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

 

Locally, Jim is a Director of the Greater North Michigan Avenue Association, a member of the Executives Club of Chicago, and serves as President Emeritus of the Advisory Board of the Illinois Eye Bank.  

 

Jim has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University and has enjoyed a career in advertising before joining the ranks of the real estate world.
